TestimonialsA.S. Four months ago on a late Saturday afternoon I picked up my son at a friends house. When my son got in the car I noticed his face had red marker all over it and some inappropriate words as well. After discussing this with him he told us he was attacked by a neighborhood bully and he didn't know what to do as he laid pinned to the ground while this bully drew all over his face. Needless to say, my son was extremely devastated from this. That following Monday on my way home from work I went to Parkers self defense school in Clayton and spoke with Mr. Parker (Si jo) who expressed to me true sincerity and listened to me as I told him what had happened to my son. I asked Mr. Parker what can I do. Mr. Parker suggested I bring my son in for a class to see if kung fu was right for him. Last Sunday (four months later) my son was at his friend's house and once again the bully shows up. But this time the bully attacks my son's friend who just recently came out of a back brace for a stress fracture. The bully charged at my sons friend, knocked him down head first onto a rock. As my son's friend was on the ground the bully jumped in the air and landed knees first on the back of my son's friend. As he lay on the ground screaming I can't feel my legs, the bully was going to jump on him again. My son ran up to the bully and said leave my friend alone. This time my son was armed with technique and with one front kick to the bully, my son prevented anymore harm to his friend (who from this attack sustained a concussion and further back problems). If we had never made the decision to empower my son that bully could have caused serious and permanent damage to his friend. If my son never again finds himself in a situation to defend himself or others, then that day alone is worth all the training and skills he will develop over years. That day alone could have been the last time his friend was able to walk and for that, we are forever grateful to Si Jo Parker.
Mark Goldman A friend recommended Parker's Self Defense to us; her son loved it and she did too. At the time, our 5-year-old son had some discipline and concentration problems, and we decided to see how he would like it. Now, little more than a year later, he is doing very well and loves to attend his Kung Fu class. Sai-Jo (Dr. Parker) has a nearly transcendent amount of patience with the kids. He doesn't dive right in and teach Jackie Chan moves to 4- and 5-year olds, but patiently tries to help them build a baseline of discipline and self-control to make it easier for them to learn. He treats them with respect and, above all, makes sure that class is fun. He teaches the kids that respect and responsibility are important not only in self-defense class, but at home and in school as well; and he is genuinely concerned with how each child is doing. We recommend Parker's Self Defense to anyone and everyone. |
