What is Tai Chi Chuan?


Tai Chi Chuan or Tai Chi as it is known is a vast system of movement, focused thought, and martial art designed specially to achieve and preserve a healthy balance between three human components- Mental, Physical, and Emotional.
A treasure of Chinese culture, Tai Chi is based upon traditional Chinese medical theory, Taosist philosophy and ancient fighting strategy. An effective combination of slow, controlled relaxed and balanced movement along with deep complete breathing and focused concentration create what is called the Tai Chi Form-the basic foundation for all Tai Chi training. Constant practice of the Tai Chi Form enhances the function of the circulatory, nervous, respiratory, and digestive systems, which are many of the reasons it is so popular today.

Chi Kung creates an awareness of and influences dimensions of our being that are not a part of traditional exercise programs. The gentle rhythmic movements of Chi Kung reduces stress, build stamina, increase vitality, and enhance the immune system. It has also been found to Improve the cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory , lymphatic, and digestive functions.
